Ms Ducasse is a self-taught milliner, with an incredible desire to work in as many artistic directions as possible. She began in 1987 with Sylvie Foscoudis, a high fashion model-maker working for such houses as Maison Paulette, Carven and Balenciaga, then worked with Joseph Proszowsky, the hatter for designers such as Jean Barthet, Motsch, Revillon, Jean-Charles Brosseau.
Encouraged by both her mentors, who helped develop and shape her talent, she decided it was time to start her own company.
Isadora designs hats and head accessories, creating them by hand. When working with a client, she creates a hat that not only takes into account the shape of the face, but their inner being and outlook on life and takes that information to create a design that is unique to that client. The client gets one of a kind hat and a contemporary collectible.
Fabrics are essential to make fabulous hats. During her years in the business, Isadora has amassed an incredible choice of materials and millinery tools from all over the world, some dating back to the early 19th century.
The current collection of fabrics range from antique to modern, silk, satin, tulle, lace, veil, vegetable hair, straw, feathers, leathers, furs, paper, wrappers, all which are available to her clients. Isadora travels frequently and is always on the look out for more fabulous fabric finds for her clients and her designs.
Besides designing her own collection, she relishes the challenge of restoring old hats and ornaments.
